Derf Backderf 

John “Derf” Backderf is the bestselling author of My Friend Dahmer and the recipient of the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for political cartooning. His weekly comic strip, The City, appeared in over 140 newspapers for twenty-two years. Named by Time as one of 2012’s top five nonfiction books and winner of the Angoulême Prize, My Friend Dahmer was made into a critically acclaimed feature film directed by Marc Meyers in 2017. Trashed, which won an Eisner Award in 2016, has been optioned by actor John Leguizamo and director-producer Bradley Kaplan to be developed into a feature film. Kent State won an Eisner Award in 2021.
