Jim Gorant

Jim Gorant is a writer and editor who has held staff positions at GQ, Men’s Journal, and Sports Illustrated. His original Sports Illustrated cover story on the dogs of Michael Vick’s Bad Newz Kennels won the Humane Society’s Genesis Award for magazine writing. The book that grew out of that article, The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick’s Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption, reached the New York Times bestseller list and was runner-up for the American Society of Journalists and Authors’ nonfiction book of the year, a finalist for the Virginia Library Association Literary Award, and a finalist for Good Reads nonfiction book of the year. Hans Canosa at Empathy Machines is developing Wallace into a feature film.
