Tad Baker

Emerson "Tad" Baker, Ph.D., is a historical archaeologist and professor at Salem State University. He is well-known in academic circles for his extensive work on witchcraft in Colonial America, as well as for his work on numerous archaeological sites along the East Coast of the United States. A specialist in the history of seventeenth-century Maine, Tad was featured as an expert consultant on the PBS miniseries Colonial House. He has also provided historical consultation for Parks Canada, National Geographic, Plimoth Plantation, and many historic district commissions, and has served as an expert witness on archaeological matters in several court cases in Nova Scotia and Maine.
